    -John Corvino warns against overusing the word “bigot.”

    John Corvino: “There’s a difference between identifying bigotry and labeling any and all people who disagree with us as bigots. Such labeling tends to function as a conversation-stopper, cutting us off from the ‘moveable middle’ and ultimately harming our progress.”

    common sense: sound practical judgment that is independent of specialized knowledge, training, or the like; normal native intelligence.
