Soulforce Announces ‘Survivor Initiative’ By Former Ex-Gays

July 3rd, 2007 Mike Airhart

Ex-gay survivors Shawn O’Donnell, Darlene Bogle and Daniel Gonzales launched the Survivor Initiative on July 2 at the headquarters of NARTH, an advocacy organization for ex-gay “therapy.” NARTH is headquartered in the office of therapist Joseph Nicolosi in Encino, Calif.

Soulforce is sponsoring the initiative.

Gonzales offers a brief, first-hand account of the event at Box Turtle Bulletin.

Gonzales says the initiative “will continue through the month of July and highlight the stories of people affected by exgay programs.”

UPDATE: Soulforce has posted video of the initiative’s press conference at NARTH headquarters.
