Press Release for Joe Kort’s New Book, “10 Smart Things Gay Men Can Do To Find Real Love”

November 28th, 2005 11 comments

It is my hope that this book might be used to challenge those who use the “gender impaired” argument to promote the ex-gay movement. Yes gay men have issues around gender but that does not make them gay–or ex-gay for that matter!

This book turns the expression “a man among men” into a love story.

26 Gay And Transgendered People Arrested in Emirates Could Be Given Hormones

November 28th, 2005 5 comments

More than two dozen gay Arab men — arrested at what police called a mass homosexual wedding — could face government-ordered hormone treatments, five years in jail and a lashing, authorities said Saturday.[*]

Stephen Bennett’s Straight Talk Radio must be a big hit in the Emirates since just last week Bennett mentioned “heterosexual hormones.”

Stephen Bennett Befriends Homosexuals, Flatters Self

November 23rd, 2005 39 comments

“Straight talking” Stephen Bennett explains precautions listeners should take when evangelizing to “the homosexual.” (11.23.05 Real Audio / Windows Media)

(+11:25) Stephen: I believe homosexual men need rock solid Bible believing Christian men to show them what real Christian male non sexual love is all about and Godly male Christian affirmation and encouragement through God’s word. Lesbians in turn need a Christian female to show them what real nonsexual Christian love is all about as well. However I always encourage these friendships with homosexuals if possible be with a husband and wife for precautionary measures. Many homosexuals can perceive this love, attention and affection that they’re receiving as sexual and sometimes will become emotionally codependent with their Christian friends. The opposite sex partner of the Christian married couple provides that safe important boundary. If the Christian is not married it might be best to bring another man along when befriending a homosexual male or another woman when befriending a lesbian individual.

Stephen Bennett’s “Straight Talk Radio” Program 11/23/05

November 23rd, 2005 11 comments

“Straight talker” Stephen Bennett gets in the spirit of Thanksgiving on today’s show. (11.23.05 Real Audio / Windows Media)

(+7:47) Stephen: Homosexuals are desperately looking for acceptance and they will do everything and anything possible to force you to give in to them. You may do the slightest act of kindness toward them and they will immediately misconstrue that as you are giving them full approval now of their homosexuality. Let me give you a final word on this. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having your child there for the holidays, you should show that unconditional love, allow your child to be there, have the whole family together. That doesn’t mean you have to be forced by your child in having the partner come. Let your child come by himself or herself.

Stephen Bennett’s “Straight Talk Radio” Program 11/22/05

November 23rd, 2005 32 comments

After just a couple weeks on the air “straight talker” Stephen Bennett seems to be running out of things to say and so it now appears as if he’s resorting to making things up. Here are a few highlights from today’s show. (11.22.05 Real Audio / Windows Media)

(+7:35) Stephen: It was not a logical choice you made to be attracted to the opposite sex, god and his plan took it’s natural course and your heterosexual hormones kicked in as they should have. In a distorted way, the same is somewhat true with homosexuality, though it’s unnatural, it is not a logical choice one makes to be attracted to the same sex. But again, here’s the major difference, the same sex attraction develops unnaturally.

Heterosexual hormones? Frankly I’m at a loss for words. Stephen however has plenty more to say:

(+9:24) Stephen: Here are just a few of the common dynamics of a person who is struggling with same sex attraction, or who has identified themselves as gay or lesbian. Get ready to jot these down. Upwards of 75 percent of homosexual men have been molested or had a prepubescent sexual experience early on in their childhood. Upwards of 90 to 95 percent of homosexual men have had or have a broken or nonexistence relationship with their father. Especially one during the early developmental years . and most likely were or are closer with their mother, even thought they may have had friends who are boys, most likely many have had more friends who were girls, they were much safer. Upwards of 85 to 90 percent of females have been molested by a male very close to them.

Where did Stephen get these statistics? God only knows cos Stephen never says. Perhaps concerned listeners should email him and ask. Oh but there’s more:

(+19:35) Stephen: Homosexuality can stem from a death in the family, divorce, physical attributes such as being too tall, too short, heavy, etc… anything that makes you different from the rest of your same-sex peers.

Straightness hormones… Statistics without sources… Gayness caused by being too tall?

Now that’s what I call straight talkin!

A Very Agape Thanksgiving

November 21st, 2005 3 comments

Actual headline:

Thanksgiving: Thanking God for That Dead, Liberal Church

The Agapepress helps spread some holiday spirit. Let’s face it though, no article can ever hope to live up to a headline that outrageous.

Stephen Bennett’s “Straight Talk Radio” Program 11/21/05

November 21st, 2005 31 comments

“Straight talker” Stephen Bennett launched into a bizarre tirade against virtually the entire modern mental health profession in today’s program. (Real Audio / Windows Media)

(+4:00) Irene: According to these so called respected professionals in their field, homosexuality is just as natural and normal and heterosexuality, though just not as prevalent.

Stephen: Irene, let me jump in here, as far as I’m concerned I suggest these psychobabblers abandon their practices and get a job working literally in the fields, pardon the sarcasm.

[Irene laughs]

Stephen: Listen, according to them, simply put, we are the ones who need psychological counseling from the years of quote anti-gay unquote religious bigotry and intolerance that our families, pastors and churches have pounded into our heads from an outdated book, written, rewritten over and over again by man, a book known as the Bible. To them we are simply fanatical, brainwashed, ideologues.

Don’t change the channel, there’s more:

(+5:08) Stephen: And as far as these professional psychologists who say “gay is ok” obviously their schooling did nothing for them except suck them dry for their tuition money. Jesus referred to these types as “the blind leading the blind;” They and their clients both falling into the pit together.

Wow, clearly every major mental health organization in the country has led me astray. Good thing Stephen is here to set the record straight!
