Reading the LIA list, one thing jumped out at me. How do they arrive at the conclusion that Bach was not a Christian? He composed ‘Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring’, the ‘Mathew Passion’, and numerous other religious works. His entire adult life was spent in the employ of the Lutheran Church. Almost all of his music was composed for the Lutheran liturgy. And he is not a Christian? What sort of barbarians run LIA?
DaleaThe same type that think Stephen Bennett is a highly original recording artist…I must say I have found that quirk an particular one with LIA. The last time I checked, Bach et al were unlikely to trigger a Gay Explosion. But I could be wrong.
Bach was probably a Christian, but who knows? What defines Christian? Bach was an employee who wrote music, and, apparently, also played it (although I wasn’t there at the time to hear it).
JSBach was reputed to have had lots of kids, mostly out of wedlock, which doesn’t sound very Christian to me.
Yes, “Jesu, der du meine seele” was very nice, although I prefer the Brandenburg compositions.
Look at page 12 (release of liability” on the application for ‘Refuge’ the ex-gay treatment program, absolutely amazing:
