From Chuck Currie:

In December and again in March, ABC television denied requests by the United Church of Christ to purchase airtime for a national ad campaign on behalf of the denomination’s inclusivity.

ABC declined the ads, claiming it had a blanket policy against all religious advertising.

But now ABC will allow the antigay, religious-right organization Focus on the Family to air two commercials ostensibly advocating so-called “faith-based” parenting.

A UCC spokesman asks: “Why is one religious viewpoint continually accommodated by the network elites?”

“Focus on the Family may be using a non-sectarian come-on, but what kind of assurances can ABC provide that Focus on the Family’s follow-up literature is respectful of all faiths, respectful of non-traditional families, respectful of the one million kids that have same-sex couples as parents?”
